We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer member sanctioning for additional equine activities within Saskatchewan.
In addition to the previously approved sanctioning for clinics and trail rides, the June 30th Saskatchewan Government Guidelines has now provided provisions for indoor and outdoor competitions were physical distancing is possible, interprovincial competition is not permitted. We are pleased to announce that after the pandemic lock down and suspension of horse activities, the Open Saskatchewan Plan will allow clinics, group lessons and trail riding to resume. We are moving towards normal!
Although the 2020 Heritage Circuit and Prairie Cup Series are cancelled, it is encouraging that starting July 1, 2020, we will be allowed to sanction clinics and trail rides. Please note that there are new risk management and waiver forms for these events available for your use (see links below).
We are sad to announce that the SHF did not survive the fallout of the pandemic unscathed. This week, we accepted the resignations of three board positions, including that of our President. The Board of Directors would like to thank Carol Masecar (President), Dr. Jim Sawatsky, and Ray Whitney, for their service and contributions to the Federation and extend our sincere best wishes in their future endeavours.
We extend a huge thank you to the Board members who stepped in to fill the vacancies and would like at this time to introduce Lisa Graham (President) and Victoria Kendall (President-Elect).
SHF is excited that our Committees will be continuing the pursuit of our 2020 programs including our LTED program, various online education initiatives, SHF Hall of Fame, grants and outreach programs. Please watch for them to be rolled out.

SHF Show Circuit Clarification
Following the email update on the cancellation of the Heritage Finals, the Heritage Circuit, and Prairie Cup Circuit, there has been some confusion.
The cancellation refers only to the point collection and calculation for the Heritage and Prairie Cup circuits and the Heritage Finals Show. When provincial health guidelines allow, the SHF will continue to sanction (offer insurance) for shows, clinics, etc. When we are able, we support and encourage Clubs to host their normal events.
Currently we are not sanctioning any shows/clinics/events prior to June 30th. As the province opens up and restrictions are lifted, we will keep everyone posted on our ability to provide sanctioning.
